Mumbai police on Wednesday released photographs of three suspected terrorists in five, which, she said, belonged to the holding banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and had entered Mumbai.
The three, however, appeared at a police station in Lahore on Wednesday night and said they are present in Lahore, two of them run businesses and serving as a security guard at the city famous electronics market Hafeez Centre.

Individuals were identified as businessmen and Atif Butt Butt Mehtab, and a security guard Baber. Arif said he had once visited India with a delegation of business two years ago, while the other two said they did not even have passports.

A leading Indian newspaper (The Times of India) who made the photos of the suspects said that Indian intelligence agencies warned the Mumbai police that five LeT cooperatives have infiltrated the city and plotting to attack vital installations, possibly through the Seaway.

The alert was sent on Sunday as well as color photographs of the five terrorists, who are all in the age group of 25-30 years. After the warning, the police commissioner Arup Patnaik has convened a high-level meeting on Monday to discuss security to enhance security at key facilities, the TOI quoting sources as saying.
A police officer who attended the meeting of the commissioner said the warning center said that the plan of the terrorists is to "sabotage" key installations near the coast by "hiring a ferry from the Gateway of India "and" attack from the sea. "

The terrorists, said the officer, have infiltrated the country earlier by land across the borders of Gujarat, Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir. They carry with them fake IDs Indians, copies of which were sent by the central intelligence agencies to the Mumbai police.
The three individuals were accompanied by the office bearers and the market traders who have demanded that the Punjab government should file a protest to the Foreign Office against the false report.
